Replacing The Irreplaceable

There are things in this world that are irreplaceable, we all know that.

Different peeps have different definitions and interpretations as to what are replaceable and what are not. I'm not gonna get into that. To each his own, really and who are we to judge what is and what's not.

In the same token, no one has the right to tell us that what we think and believe to be replaceable is otherwise, no?

Anyways, thanks to my beloved mom, I finally got my family ring replaced.

The replacement to the irreplaceable

The replacement is exactly like the previous one but it's not the same. I mean, I suppose I could look at it as exactly the same - for it is - but you can't replace something that has been on your finger for the last 25 years, can you?

But you know, as much as the original means the world to me, I have no regrets parting with it because I know it's now in the possession of someone who would, hopefully, take care of it as much as I did for almost 2/3 of my life.

We all lose something irreplaceable in our lives at some point.

We do, don't we?
