Let The Multi-Million Transfers Begin!

It overshadowed the NBA Finals; it overshadowed the NBA Draft.

And now it is here!

As of 12:01 EDT, the 2010 NBA free agency period officially started!

With superstars galore, teams have thrown away past seasons in order to remove enough salary caps to aggressively woo these free agents. Some teams have enough room to offer two maximum contracts.

LBJ, the leader of the pack. Where will he play?

For the stars' incumbent teams, this is a period of mass hysteria. For teams such as the New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers, this is the moment to change their respective franchises from the laughing stocks of the league to respectable contenders.

It is also known as the Lebron James Free Agency Market.

LBJ leads an awesome all-star cast of the 2003 NBA Draft and together with Miami’s Dwyane Wade and Toronto’s Chris Bosh, this year is perhaps one of, if not, the best free agency to ever hit the NBA.

D-Wade aka The Flash will probably stay with The Heat but...

It remains to be seen whether LBJ will remain with the Cavaliers but it’s highly unlikely. He’s been with them since he joined the NBA, won 2 back-to-back MVP’s but he’s never led them to the Promised Land. For all his greatness, I don’t think he has what it has to lead his team.

Personally, I would love for him to join the Knicks but I guess he’s more inclined to join the Nets or the Bulls. But the expectations he’d face in Jordan Town would make it hard for him.

D-Wade, the undisputed leader of the Miami Heat, on the other hand, is likely to stay with his current team but only if they bring in another marquee name and it could be in the form of Chris Bosh. But even if they do get the Toronto superstar, I still don’t see them challenging in the East but if there’s one thing that the Heat has that no other team possess, it’s the genius that is Pat Riley.

Chris Bosh might end up with D-Wade in Miami

Besides the Big 3, other superstars in the current free agency market are all-stars Joe Johnson, Amare Stoudamire, Dirk Nowitzki, Yao Ming as well as future Hall of Famers Shaquille O’Neal and Ray Allen.

All in all, it’s gonna be a great time for NBA fans. And I just hope my New York Knicks do get something worthwhile; it’s been ages since a Knicks fan have something to smile about.

Let the bidding and begging begin!
