God! Get Educated Kids!

I love watching Glee.

I do. I really do. It's a feel-good kinda show and it brings me back to the days when performing in front of crowds gave me some satisfaction rush. I may not be able to sing now but if you've seen me on the dance floor, you know I like to put on a performance.

What the fuck am I talking about?!?

This entry is not about me being a former Glee Club member. What I wanted to write about is how disappointing it is to note that kids nowadays, with the internet at their disposal, do not give credit where it is due. Or worst, argue without checking their facts.

The original by Journey

Yes, the theme song of the Glee TV show is "the most downloadable song on iTunes" but it's not because of the show. Originally recorded by 'Journey' long, long time ago, it's been used in so many TV shows and movies that one could imagine. The song has been played in The Wedding Singer, Family Guy, Shrek, The Comebacks, South Park, CSI, Laguna Beach, Scrubs and a host of other shows and movies.

Even when the contestants of American Idol 8 went on tour, they always sang this song!

Idol 2009

But what propelled it to greater heights and solidified its status is when it was used as the song in the final scene of one of the greatest TV show, "The Sopranos". Anyone of you remember? Or even know that it was the song played in that scene? You know, the scene where Tony was shot. Do you know what song was playing? Anyways, I think that final scene is just so amazing but that's a topic for another entry.

Geez! Get educated kids.

The last scene from 'The Sopranos'

I love me a good debate - or even an argument - but please make sure you have your facts right. I don't care if people think I'm old for knowing all these or for knowing who Journey is. The next time you try to argue with me about anything, make sure you know what you're talking about.

Now go and surf the net and get yourselves educated!

This is my favorite amateur version on YouTube :-)
