Listen To Jigga Y'all

I’m not sure many of you know this, unless of course you’re very close to me, Sean Carter III is my favorite rapper. And to the ones not familiar with Hip-Hop, Sean Carter is more commonly known as Jay Z.

The story of how Jay became the biggest Hip-Hop artiste today is one for the ages; a classic rags-to-riches story that I think could not be emulated again in the hip-hop scene, ever. This is a guy who had to set up his own label company to market his first album. The said label - Roc-A-Fella Records – is now a multi-million label with a host of other artistes under it.

But this entry is not to talk about Jay Z. Rather, I want to share with you his “Six-Point Best Life Diagnostic”. Now, don’t fucking tell me you have heard of them; I know you haven’t so just shut the fuck and read.

In our daily lives, we are always faced with issues and problems but it’s expected. Life without any obstacles is not really life, y’know? Are we pursuing our dreams with focus, passion, and energy… or just drifting?

The true measure of success is not whether you have the biggest knot or the illest whip, if you even know that that means LOL In the world according to Jay Z, real success - truly living your best life – means answering one simple question: Are you satisfied with what you’re putting out into the world?

Put your day-to-day through the following checklist and see if you’re headed in the right direction.

BE YOUR BIGGEST FAN

Believe in whatever it is you’re doing, if you don’t, no one else will

TAKE CONTROL, THEN LET GO

Work really hard and apply yourself in a way that when the job is done, you can look in the mirror and say, ‘I’ve exhausted all possibilities. I have done everything to make this right.’ After that, let it go. It’s out of your control

FOCUS ON THE PROCESS, NOT THE RESULT

People get consumed by the trappings of success. They forgot the reason why they do what they do in the first place. Whether you have zero money or millions of dollars, it doesn’t change who you are. Keep yourself inspired.”

NEVER ACT ON YOUR FEARS

Card players have a saying, ‘ play the cards, not the money.’ If your hand is good, it doesn’t matter if there’s $2 on the table or $2000. You determine your outcome. Don’t make decisions based on fear. People can be jealous of you and bait you, but you can be mature and handle the situation.”

USE MONEY THE RIGHT WAY

For some people, money can be a burden and lead to bad decisions. But money should make you comfortable so that you don’t have to compromise yourself or do anything just for money. It should give you the freedom to do what you love.”

DON’T STOP GROWING

"Growth doesn’t stop when you become successful. It is when it starts.”

Wise words indeed from someone who knows how to make money, and yet live his dreams in the process. With such powerful insights, it is no wonder Jigga is a mogul.

He’s got 99 problems but money ain’t one, I guess.

If only all of us can be as lucky…
