Federico Macheda

Remember that name!

When the Red Devils looked like they were going to share points with Aston Villa, this 17 year old kid from Italy, whom not many fans have heard of, scored a great goal in the dying minutes of the match to give Man United a much needed 3-2 win and allowed us to go back to the top of the English premier League.

Going into the game without a few of United's regular starters - Vida, Berba, Rio, Scholes and Rooney – and having been leapfrogged by arch rivals Liverpool the day before, it was a game we had to win. We had to win this game, not only to go back on top but more importantly, to get back the swagger and confidence that we have somewhat lost.

Trailing 1-2 with 10 minutes left, a piece of magic from Ronaldo - his 2nd in the match – provided for a pulsating end and with 2 minutes remaining, the kid from Italy showed the world that the never-say-die attitude that makes Man United great is very much alive.

Tonight, a star is born and his name is Federico Macheda.

Again, remember that name!
