I thought I could get away with it...

Maybe I still could...

Or maybe not...

Exactly one week ago, I collected my first pair of the Lebron IV China's. If you were to go back to my first post regarding these shoes, I mentioned that a Filipino friend of mine hooked me up them babies. Hardcore sneaker addicts will tell you that they buy multiple pairs of each release and I am no different. At the very least, I always cop two pairs - one to rock and one to keep dead stocked.

After meeting another potential employer this afternoon (I seem to be getting lots of offers nowadays; to be blogged separately soon *wicked smile*), I checked my mailbox and I found another letter from the post office; only this time it wasn't the pink card that I've grown to love but a more formal letter - complete with an envelop - and instantly I knew it was from the customs department in KLIA :(

Receiving such a letter is a really a downer for all sneakerheads. What this means is that my package is stuck with the customs in KLIA and I need to go there myself to collect it and more often than not, I will be made to pay customs tax. I have been through this same routine many times in the past; if you buy sneakers as much as I do, you know this is part and parcel of the game...

However, most of the times in the past, I always get away from being taxed and even when I do get taxed, it is very minimal. How do I get away with it? My Small Baby!

When she was around, our modus operandi was effectively simple: we go there, she collects the package instead of me and with her beauty and sparkling personality, the custom dudes would all be drooling that they just give the package to her! I can't say I blame them though hehehe

Oh how I wish my Small Baby was here *sad sigh*

I have already paid USD250 a pop for them shoes plus shipping; how much more do I need to incur just to get them?

Damn! Sneaker Pimpin' is really a very expensive hobby! :(

The best alternative is to collect them this Sunday as they tend to be more lax and not in a not so menunju kuasa mood, if you know what I mean... Without the presence of their supervisors, coupled by their reluctance to be working on a Sunday (again, can't really blame them), I am hoping they will let me go home with my package. I just need to find a very good reason...

If only my Small Baby was here...
